Sustainable Management Strategies for the Black Sea Coast Ecosystems
The paper addresses the geobotanical features of key areas along the Black Sea coast, focusing on the region from Novorossiysk to Kabardinka and from the Betta farm to Inal Bay (Russia). The study assesses the condition of plant populations, evaluates community disturbances caused by various factors, and examines vegetation patterns in relation to elevation. Of significant concern is the impact of both natural conditions and human activities on t…
Technologies for monitoring the activity of exogenous and endogenous processes of the black seacoast within the Krasnodar territory using the method of photographic analysis
Morphometric, morphographic, and structural analysis should be combined since orographic features directly reflect the tectonic structure of the territory. In the study, the authors supplemented these types of analysis with the photograph analysis method which allowed them to study the relief of the coastline better. The results of the analysis showed that the close contact of the Caucasus mountain system with the Black Sea and the high dissectio…
Transformation of soils in areas with active recreational activity on the Russian Black sea coast
This paper examines the influence of recreational activities on the components of coastal landscapes on the territory of the municipal formation of the resort city of Gelendzhik, Russia (the Betta farm). The authors provide an estimation of the anthropogenic impact on the soils. The paramagnetic activity of meadow-chernozem soils is studied using electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The authors also review other aspects related to soil c…
From Strange to Normal
This article presents a computational approach to examining immigrant incorporation through shifts in the social 'mainstream.' Analyzing a historical corpus of American etiquette books, texts from 1922-2017 describing social norms, we identify mainstream shifts related to long-standing groups which once were and may currently still be seen as immigrant outsiders in the United States: Catholic, Chinese, Irish, Italian, Jewish, Mexican, and Muslim …
The Study of the Structure of the Krasnodar Territory Contemporary Steppe Landscapes
As a result of lichenological and lichenocenological studies in the steppe plant communities of the Taman Peninsula, 40 species of lichens from 19 genera and 11 families were identified. To determine lichens, traditional methods in lichenology were used. The taxonomic list of lichens is compiled taking into account the current nomenclature. Well-known geobotanical methods were used to study epigenic lichen groups and to account for their abundanc…
Dolgaya Spit
The Krasnodar region is one of Russia’s four leaders in terms of tourism development. The number of tourists who visit the Krasnodar region has been rising year after year. Specially protected natural areas, which attract a lot of tourists, come under pressure. Nowadays, natural monuments turned into travel destinations, as a rule, of short-term trips (the so-called weekend journeys). The Dolgaya Spit area is an example of extensive use of natura…
