Open Access•Dainius Genys•ARTICLE•Baltic Journal of Law and Politics•2025

The article examines the integration experiences of Russian political migrants in Lithuania, analyzing politics as everyday experience. Migration is understood here not only as an institutional or legal category, but also as an existential process that transforms the horizons of time, language, social relations and belonging. Based on the data of eleven qualitative interviews, four main levels of experience are revealed: the creation of “we-links…

  • The key factors of faith transmission in Lithuanian families

Vincentas Vobolevičius, Dainius Genys•ARTICLE•Journal of Beliefs and Values•2025

Growing body of academic literature indicates changing patterns of intergenerational faith transmission. We analyse empirical evidence from Lithuania to verify factors determining the transmission of faith in a family setting. We assess if parents’ religious conservatism affects the probability transfer of parents’ beliefs to their offspring. Specifically, we propose that parents holding orthodox religious beliefs face no advantage in transferrin…

Drawing on qualitative interviews with Ukrainian youth and Lithuanian aid organisers, the research demonstr…

  • Kavoliška laisvės sociologija ir jos dėmenys

    Open Access•Dainius Genys•ARTICLE•Filosofija. Sociologija•2024

Žymus Lietuvos sociologas Vytautas Kavolis visą akademinę karjerą plačiai tyrinėjo laisvės klausimą, nors ir nenaudojo „laisvės sociologijos“ pavadinimo. Jo daugiamatė analizė apėmė politines institucijas, kultūros normas, istorinę evoliuciją ir globalias perspektyvas, atskleisdama sudėtingą visuomenės struktūrų ir asmens laisvių sąveiką. Šiame straipsnyje politinės sociologijos požiūriu, išskaidant laisvės ir jos apraiškų įvairiuose visuomenės k…

    Dainius Genys•ARTICLE•Journal of Baltic Studies•2024•References: 31

This article analyzes non-economic reasons for emigration, demonstrating how the situation before emigration might become important for the emigration decision. It aims to examine how migrants’ subjective accounts of civic participation, labor experience, and emotional state are associated with migrant clusters formed based on socioeconomic characteristics. The article discusses structural conditions of the transition period that might have impac…

  • Energetinio saugumo suvokimas: Neinformuotų racionalių veikėjų tipai

    Open Access•Vylius Leonavičius, Dainius Genys•ARTICLE•Filosofija. Sociologija•2017

Remiantis v…

Šios dichotomijos le…

Analizuojant centralizuoto šilumos tiekimo (CŠT) problemą ir stringantį jos sprendimo būdą – daugiabučių namų renovacijos programą didžiausia problema tampa ne CŠT infrastruktūra, kuri, naudojant naujausias technologijas, galėtų tapti efektyvia ir ekonomiška sistema, bet socialinės kliūtys, neleidžiančios greitai rekonstruoti sistemos bei prisitaikyti prie socialinių ir ekonominių liberalios rinkos sąlygų. Straipsnyje aptariama, kaip iš sovietini…

Analizuojant „organizuoto neatsakingumo“ reiškinį, atskleidžiamas rizikos visuomenėsparadoksas (kuris apib…
