This study investigates the imagination of the future in the context illness or disability, using the letters from the future method (LFM) and reading the letters from the perspective of the concept of possibility. Working people with type 1 diabetes in the Finnish population
Between 1992 and 2007, the number of working-aged people and workers with type 1 diabetes increased by 35%. Most workers with type 1 diabetes manage as well at work as the general population. Positioning oneself in relation to hegemonic masculinity can be seen as a pervasive aspect of a man’s actions and experiences. In this study, the connection between masculinity and depression was studied using a sample of Finnish men in their forties, who had self-identified as depressed. This article suggests that narrative meaning structures have different modes of existence: the “told”, the “inner” and the “lived” modes.
