  • Tracking an exotic raw material

    Laressa Barry, Ian T Graham et al.•ARTICLE•Australian Archaeology•2020•Cited by: 7•References: 9

A compliance-based excavation on Parramatta River (western Sydney) found evidence of a brief visitation by Aboriginal people during the terminal Pleistocene (c.14 ka), from which an exotic raw material–medium-grained porphyroblastic andalusite-cordierite hornfels–was recovered. This raw material is rare in the region, only found in the Megalong Valley situated some 75 km west of the site in Parramatta, and separated from the site by the Blue Moun…

  • The Willandra Fossil Trackway

    Michael C Westaway, Michael Westaway et al.•ARTICLE•Australian Archaeology•2013•Cited by: 2•References: 6

This paper presents some results of a ground penetrating radar survey conducted to establish the extent of the Willlandra Fossil Trackway, and further mapping of the footprints and intermingled tracks. In addition, it includes a refinement of the age range of the trackway, through further OSL dating, to between 19,000 and 20,000 years ago. Finally, it also provides a discussion of the geochemical composition of the trackway

  • Juan Galindo, Enthusiast

  • Crossing the Great Divide

    Open Access•Val Attenbrow, Ian Graham et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeology in Oceania/Archæology…•2012•Cited by: 3•References: 12

The raw material, method of manufacture and modification of a ground‐edged hatchet‐head found at Vaucluse in Sydney provides evidence for the movement of stone tools from west of the Great Dividing Range to the coast. Such evidence adds new knowledge about social relationships between different groups in southeastern Australia and patterns of exchange that existed in the past

  • Corpus of Maya Hieroglyphic Inscriptions

Warwick Bray, Ian Graham et al.•REVIEW•Man•1981

The goal of the Corpus of Maya Hieroglyphic Inscriptions is to document in photographs and detailed line drawings all known Maya inscriptions and their associated figurative art. When complete, the Corpus will have published the inscriptions from over 200 sites and 2,000 monuments. The series has been instrumental in the remarkable success of the ongoing process of deciphering Maya writing, making available hundreds of texts to epigraphers workin…
