  • An Investigation into the Swiftness and Intensity of Recent Secularization in Canada: Was Berger Right

    D A Hay, David Hay•ARTICLE•Sociology of Religion•2014•Cited by: 10•References: 7

In this article, we investigate the correlates of recent secularization in Canada since the 1960s. We find that two factors emerge as critical in our models: (1) the new paradigm of individualism, together with (2) epistemic shi…

    Open Access•Kazima Bulayeva, K B Bulayeva et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•1993

Such a study permits the analysis of both phenoty…

  • Problems of Urban Decline and Growth in EEC Countries: Or Measuring Degrees of Elephantness

    Open Access•Paul Cheshire, Gianni Carbonaro et al.•ARTICLE•Urban Studies•1986•Cited by: 18•References: 3

The purpose of this paper is to draw together several strands of literature concerned with the measurement of spatial economic and social differences and then suggest an alternative approach. We then apply that approach to classifying the problems of 103 of the largest metropolitan regions in the EEC countries. In the process, this allows us to conceptualise and attempt to quantify 'urban decline' in Europe: and simultaneously discover the extent…
