Participation and the Mystery: Transpersonal Essays in Psychology, Education, and Religion
Participation and the Mystery is both an introduction to and expansion of Jorge N. Ferrer's groundbreaking work on participatory spirituality, which holds that human beings are active cocreators of spiritual phenomena, worlds, and even ultimates. After examining the impact of his work since the publication of Revisioning Transpersonal Theory, Ferrer discusses the relationship between science and transpersonal psychology, the nature of a fully emb…
Beyond the non/monogamy system: Fluidity, hybridity, and transcendence in intimate relationships

Th…

It\nthen argues that a participatory pluralism paves the way for an appreciation of religious diversity that\neschews the dogmatism and competitiveness…

What Does It Mean to Live a Fully Embodied Spiritual Life
This essay discusses the meaning of embodied spirituality-based on the integration of all human attributes, including the body and sexuality-and contrasts it with the disembodied spirituality-based on dissociation and/or sublimation-prevailing in human religious history. It then describes what it means to approach the body as a living partner with which to co-create one's spiritual life, and outlines ten features of a fully embodied spirituality.…
