    Open Access•Davorin Žagar•ARTICLE•Politička misao•2024

This article provides an alternative, sexual reinterpretation of Machiavelli’s Mandragola from an alternative sexual perspective focusing on sodomy (in its sixteenth-century meaning), and especially male-male sexuality. In this reading, Messer Nicia is, put in today’s terms, a homosexual and, at the same time, surprisingly enough, the key, princely character in the play. • A Discourse on Machiavelli’s New Rome

    Open Access•Davorin Žagar•ARTICLE•Politička misao•2021•Cited by: 2•References: 4

  • Machiavelli

    Open Access•Davorin Žagar•ARTICLE•Politička misao•2020•References: 5

Autor u članku ukazuje na suvremenu relevantnost Machiavellijeva nauka sadržanog u Vladaru i Raspravama. U dijalogu s Lefortom i njegovim epohalnim tumačenjem Firentinca (1972) članak nudi alternativno, subverzivno čitanje Machiavellijeve teorije političkog konflikta i pritom, u kritičkom odnosu spram Honnetha (1995), osvjetljuje elemente specifične, makijavelijevske teorije priznanja. Autor tvrdi da je fundamentalno demokratski karakter Machiave…
