Insuring masculinity
Cryopreservation of sperm dates to the 1950s. Today, private sperm banks and fertility clinics cryopreserve sperm for private customers for all kinds of reasons. This article presents a postcolonial and feminist analysis of 44 newspaper articles published between 1965 and 2022 about “the coil campaign” in Greenland, which fitted Greenlandic Inuit women with the IUD in the 1960s and 1970s, at times without their knowledge or consent. Orchestrating moral bearability in the clinical management of second-trimester selective abortion
In present-day Denmark, second-trimester selective abortion has become a regular medical event, which has turned selective abortion care into a routinized task for health staff. In this article, we explore what forms of care practices abortion providers in Danish public hospitals engage in.
