The Ilgarijiri Project: A Collaboration Between Aboriginal Communities and Radio Astronomers in the Murchison Region of Western Australia
The international radio astronomy initiative known as the Square Kilometre Array is a cutting-edge science project, aimed at dramatically expanding our vision and understanding of the Universe. The $2billion+ international project is being shared between Southern Africa and Australia. The Australian component, centred in the Murchison region of Western Australia, is based upon collaboration with Aboriginal communities. A collaborative project cal…
How Cyber Changes the Laws of War
Michael Walzer’s Just and Unjust Wars anticipated many problems and developments in the laws of war, but it understandably did not anticipate how the Internet and associated computer and telecommunications revolutions would change war or the laws that govern it. Aboriginal Oral Traditions of Australian Impact Craters
In this paper we explore Aboriginal oral traditions that relate to Australian meteorite craters. Using the literature, first-hand ethnographic records and fieldtrip data, we identify oral traditions and artworks associated with four impact sites: Gosses Bluff, Henbury, Liverpool and Wolfe Creek. Oral traditions describe impact origins for Gosses Bluff, Henbury and Wolfe Creek Craters, and non-impact origins for Liverpool Crater, with Henbury and …

It discusses the syllable's internal structure, including the onset, nucleus, and coda, and explores the various phonotactic constraints that govern the permissible combinations of sounds within a syllable. The chapter also examines the role of the syllable in stress assignment, prosodic phrasing, and other phonological processes. It consid…
Unilateral regulation of the Internet: A modest defence

It argues that the threat of multiple national regulation of Internet transactions is significantly exaggerated. It then examines a more serious problem: the spillover effects from unilateral national regulation. These spillovers do not affect the legitimacy of unilateral regulation, but t…
