The impact of tourism, urbanization, globalization, and renewable energy on carbon emissions: Testing the inverted N-shape environmental Kuznets curve
This research investigates the relationship between tourism, urbanization, renewable energy, and carbon (CO2) emissions in 77 countries between 2008 and 2019. Specifically, by applying a quantile regression approach, this study delves into the existence of an inverted N-shape curve in the connection between tourism and CO2 emissions while also considering the roles of global economic activities, as indicated by the flows of tourism, trade, and fo…
Mapping Research Trends With Factorial Analysis in Organizational Politics
Organizational politics can lead to stigmatization among employees, creating division within an organization. As a result, researchers are interested in studying this topic. This study aims to identify trends and developments in scientific publications related to organizational politics, using 828 international journals in the Web of Science database. The study employs various factorial analysis visualizations, including correspondence analysis, …
Poverty Dynamics in Indonesia: The Prevalence and Causes of Chronic Poverty
This study aims to determine the chronicity of poverty in Indonesia using the equally distributed equivalent (EDE) poverty gap method, tracking Indonesian households in 2007 and 2014. The results indicate that the largest component of poverty among households was chronic (77%). Compared to transient poverty, chronic poverty is more common across individuals. Unlike previous studies, we used data at the district level to measure the poverty line, …
Poverty dynamics in Indonesia: Empirical evidence from three main approaches
Although the number of studies on poverty dynamics in Indonesia is growing, the findings remain inconclusive. This study aims to reexamine the poverty dynamics in Indonesia by using three main approaches: the spell approach, the component approach, and the equally distributed equivalent (EDE) poverty gap approach. The study employed household panel data from the National Socio-Economic Survey of Indonesia (Susenas) 2008 and 2010 and also the FGT …
Analysis of the relationship between income inequality and social variables: Evidence from Indonesia
This study tries to analyse the relationship between income inequality and social variables to provide additional empirical input on the related structural model. To achieve these objectives, this study uses the cointegration and long-run structural vector auto-regression (SVAR) for the panel data on 33 provinces in Indonesia over the 2005-2018 period. The study concludes that income inequality has a positive impact on population growth, unemploy…
