  • Framework for AI integration into the undergraduate medical curricula: A scoping review

    Open Access•D Cheng, E Chan et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Medical Education•2026

BACKGROUND: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming healthcare, driving global demand for AI applications. Undergraduate medical education (UGME) must therefore prepare future physicians for AI‐augmented practice. However, recent reviews indicate that curriculum reform lags behind the realistic clinical use of AI, raising the question of whether we are training the right “genotype” (undergraduate) and “phenotype” (postgraduate) of ph…

  • Cultural theology and social robotics: The intersection of religion and science in ethical AI

    Y S Song, Robert M Geraci•ARTICLE•Religion•2025•Cited by: 1•References: 51

Developing ethical artificial intelligence has become crucial, especially as advancements in machine learning lead to the deployment of AI across society. Drawing on religious and cultural values exposes lacunae in current approaches to robotics and AI, and creates opportunities to design AI for human flourishing. The Korean value of jeong (empathy, solidarity, and mutual obligation) offers an example of such cultural theology for AI development.…

  • Religious AI as an Option to the Risks of Superintelligence: A Protestant Theological Perspective

    Y S Song•ARTICLE•Theology and Science•2021

This essay argues that religious AI should be included in the options to prevent the risks of superintelligence. No absolute defense is possible against the risks of superintelligence to exterminate human beings in the future. However, religious AI would mitigate the dangers with a chance to practice self-sacrificial love for humans while remaining humble as a creature before God. Christianity may play an important role for the development of rel…

  • Christian Ethical Analysis of the L.A. Riots in 1992: The Media and Institutional Racism

    Open Access•Y S Song•ARTICLE•Religions•2020

This essay utilizes Reinhold Niebuhr’s theology of the universality of sin to analyze institutional racism, using the 1992 Los Angeles riots as a case study. Contrary to the conventional interpretation of the riots as a conflict between African Americans and Korean Americans, the pervasive institutional racism of the mainstream media of that era spread the riots into multiracial conflicts, which explains Niebuhr’s thinking regarding the universal…

  • Daeganghwal-tang inhibits the stem cell factor-induced migration and inflammatory cytokines secretion in mast cells

Open Access•H Y Shin, Zaleka Eliza Nora Agustina et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2003

Traditional Oriental medicinal prescription, Daeganghwal-tang (DGHT) has been used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Korea. However, its effect in experimental models remains unknown. Recent reports suggest that in patients with RA, synovial mast cells increase in number and show signs of activation and inflammatory cytokines secretion. Our results show that stem cell factor (SCF) is a potent chemotactic factor for the mast cells …
