Policies that target the packaging, appearance, and marketing of e-cigarettes appear much more popular among vapers than those targeting price or the types of devices and flavours that can be sold. Vapers emphasised the need to balance policy interventions that make e-cigarettes less appealing to young people but do not deter people from using them as an alternative to smoking
Exploring how an e-cigarette intervention influenced tobacco smoking behaviour in people accessing homelessness services
For people accessing homelessness support centres, smoking abstinence remains challenging. More intensive support and a variety of approaches to support smoking cessation, particularly those which address the psychosocial factors which hinder smoking abstinence, may be required. Roughly one million adults in GB still smoke menthol cigarettes and, with the exception of Wales and young people, there were no noteworthy changes in the post-ban period. There was no indication that the overall persistence of menthol smoking was driven by illicit purchases
