Personal Problem-Solving Using Dream Incubation: Dreaming, Relaxation, or Waking Cognition
In Experiment 1, 96 frequent dreamers were randomly assigned to Control or Experimental conditions. All participants rated waking and dream moods over ten days and recorded their most vivid dream for each night. On the first and tenth day they rated the levels of distress and solvability of up to eight specific personal problems. To investigate the importance of body image concerns relating to hand appearance in rheumatoid arthritis, a questionnaire was devised and administered to 80 female out‐patients. A definition of romantic jealousy as a complex of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors resulting from threats to one's self-esteem and/or relationship is developed. A variety of potential correlates of romantic jealousy consistent with this definition were identified.
