Perceived Risk and Willingness to Provide Loan to Smallholder Farmers in Ghana
In this article, we investigate whether lending institutions perceive smallholder (individual) farmers as riskier borrowers than farm cooperatives. Our research results show that individual farmers in Ghana are less likely to be successful in obtaining credit than cooperative farmers, because they are perceived to be riskier borrowers. The Impact of the Terrorist Attacks of 9/11 on Anti-Islamic Hate Crime
Using existing data from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, time series analyses were conducted on hate crime data from 2001 around the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. A statistically significant increase in anti-Islamic hate crime occurred after 9/11, and anti-Islamic hate crime leveled off within 8 weeks of the occurrence. The result of a hierarchical factor analysis of the intercorrelations among the CPI-R folk scales showed a strong general profile elevation factor for both men and women. The emergence of the general factor is noteworthy because it provides an empirical basis for interpreting the overall CPI/CPI-R profile elevation as a measure of personal adjustment.
