  • Strengthening Family-School Partnerships

Siqi Zhang, Sarah H Eason et al.•ARTICLE•Early Education and Development•2026

Research Findings: Family-school partnerships can support young children’s school readiness, especially during transitions, yet little is known about what information families value from educators and how well educators meet these preferences. Through qualitative methods, this study explores communication topics, resource needs, and developmental domains that parents value, as well as educators’ communication practices in center-, home- and minis…

  • Reputation or Norms? Unravelling the Mechanisms of Eye Cues in Promoting Social Mindfulness

Open Access•Heya Lei, Siqi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Psychology•2026

Eye cues have been shown to promote prosocial behaviours, yet their impact on social mindfulness and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study conducted two experiments using an adapted Social Mindfulness paradigm to investigate the effects of various eye cues on social mindfulness, focusing on reputation management and norm compliance. Experiment 1 compared the effects of eye cues, flowers, and a no‐cue condition on social mindfulness…

  • Effects of Organic Fertilizer Substitution on Soil Carbon Loss and Sedimentary Carbon Fractions

Open Access•Hua Feng, Siqi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

Application of organic fertilizer is a key strategy for soil carbon sequestration, yet its impact on the erosion selective transport and chemical quality of eroded organic carbon (OC) remains unclear. We investigated this using laboratory rainfall simulations on sloping cropland under three treatments: no fertilization (CK), chemical N/P (NP), and organic substitution (OMNP). Our results reveal a critical trade‐off between erosion quantity and ca…

  • Determinants of AI teachers’ behavioural intention to use virtual simulation platforms

Open Access•Qingchao Ke, Tingting Bao et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2026

The effective realisation of benefits offered by virtual simulation platforms in AI education is contingent upon teachers’ behavioural intentions to adopt such technologies. This study integrates the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to examine determinants underlying AI teachers’ behavioural intentions. Analysis of 266 valid responses using Structural …

  • School Feeding Program and Health Outcomes Among School‐Aged Children

Open Access•Lei Wang, Siqi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of School Health•2026

BACKGROUND: High rates of iron-deficiency anemia among school-age children have been a common issue in developing countries. In 2012, China rolled out a school feeding program (SFP) to address this issue. This study assesses changes in anemia rates, as well as potential factors driving these changes, both 3 and 10 years after the SFP was implemented. METHODS: Data were from two cross-sectional surveys (n = 1510) in northwestern China. T-tests wer…

  • Change and Stability in the Family Physician Service System

Open Access•Li Luo, Siqi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Health & Social Care in the…•2026•References: 2

The family physician plays an important role in the primary care system in many countries and regions; however, it is still in its infancy in China for many reasons. To help develop the family physician service, we investigated the behaviors of physicians and community residents in the context of signing the service contract with an evolutionary game model and explored the impact of some factors on the equilibrium. The result shows that the profe…

Open Access•Siqi Zhang, Mikael Skou Andersen et al.•ARTICLE•Weather, Climate, and Society•2025

The objective of this study is to estimate the welfare economic costs of premature cardiopulmonary disease (CPD) mortality in Europe and Asia Minor under a middle-of-the-road scenario for global warming. It projects future heat-related CPD fatalities in urban areas over the next 25 years for 317 regions of 39 countries by applying regionalized exposure-response functions for heat- and air pollution–related premature mortality. These functions are…

Open Access•Guoyu Ren, Xiubao SUN et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Geography (Chigaku…•2025

Open Access•Lei Wang, Siqi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2024

The literature has shown that cognitive and non-cognitive development before the age of three is associated with children’s levels of development at later ages. However, the extent to which the different pathways of cognitive and non-cognitive development before age three (between 6–12 months and 22–30 months of age) are associated with developmental outcomes at primary school age remains unknown. This study aims to examine this research question…
