The Moderating Role of Discrimination in the Association between Same-Race/Ethnicity Friends and Negative Ethnic-Racial Identity Affect over Time
The current study assessed the moderating role of perceived discrimination on the association between same-race/ethnicity friends and negative ethnic-racial identity (ERI) affect among Asian, Black, and Latinx students of color over time. Diverse college students ages 18-25 (73.7% female) provided self-reports of same-race/ethnicity friends, racial discrimination, and negative ERI affect at the beginning of a semester (T1) and end of a semester 4…

The finding that the Co group differed from both the ED + Co and NoCE groups on 8 measures and from the NoCE group on one additional measure underscores the importance of looking at coffee in addition to EDs when considering associations between caffe…

Throughout his life he dealt with issues of history and modernity, Marxist philosophy and the critique of ideology, philosophical anthropology and aesthetics. In this volume, author and Kofler biographer Christoph Jünke elucidates the contours of his philosophy of praxis, traces an arc from the socialist…

This study was conducted at a youth organization that provided academic tutoring for inner-city grade school children. Tutors were trained to use social reinforcement; behavioral observations were made during baseline, training, and follow-up phases. The behaviors of interest were tutor approving, disapproving, and attending behaviors. Each tutor took part in six individual training sessions. After training, all three tutors showed increases in t…
Clergy's Knowledge of Self-Help Groups in a Large Metropolitan Area
Religious leaders were surveyed concerning their attitudes toward self help groups. Of the 154 respondents, 70% had made at least one referral to a self-help group, and the religious leaders had generally positive feelings toward these groups. Although the religious leaders fell that self-help groups would be helpful with many of the problems brought to them by their congregation members, for only 59% of those problems did they know of specific s…

Developing comprehensive and accessible smoking cessation programs at the work site is an important objective for health care professionals. In this study, employees of 43 corporations participated in a televised smoking cessation program accompanied by self-help manuals. The media co…
