Key account management ( KAM ) has become one of the fundamental changes in how business‐to‐business companies manage their most strategic relationships. This study explores the antecedents to the development of KAM and the different streams of research exploring KMA from an organizational perspective including relational typologies, activity frameworks and implementation models.
