This study concerns the social‐interactional consequences of crying among survivors of stroke. The episodes of crying analyzed here took place during interviews including the patients, the patients’ spouses, and an interviewer. This study examines interviews with men who have experienced strokes.'Control interviews' with persons who had experienced health problems not related to stroke were also conducted, and they are considered here as well.
