Methamphetamine-Induced Wakefulness and Sleep Management: A Qualitative Analysis of Online Narratives

This qualitative study explores the experiences of people who used methamphetamine to manage wakefulness and reduce sleep as a means to achieve functio…

The final selected HWLs can be adapted based on the context and policy landscape of the target country and can be further fine-tuned based on feedback from WP smokers …

Pet loss and continuing bonds in children and adolescents
There is little research available regarding the impact of pet loss on children. Children answered four questionnaires and the Continuing Bonds Interview. Parents answered a demographic questionnaire. Results suggest that all children utilize CB whil…
The Louis Armstrong Story, Reissues, and the LP Record: Anchors of Significance
This article explores the social lives of two-dozen sound recordings made by Louis Armstrong between 1925 and 1931. Through this case study, it examines how the meaning of media content changes over time through varying forms of reproduction. It argues that the reissue of Armstrong’s Hot Five and Seven recordings in the early 1950s inserted them into new networks of meaning and practice and that the long-playing (LP) record itself played a major …

Asynchronous Holocene colluvial and alluvial aggradation: A matter of hydrosedimentary connectivity
Based on Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) and radiocarbon dating we establish chronologies of colluviation and alluviation in different floodplain sections of the northwestern Wetterau loess basin (Germany). Similar to some other European valley floors, Holocene floodplain aggradation is marked by two important breaks: (1) a millennial-scale delay between the Neolithic agricultural colluviation and floodplain aggradation. In loess catchmen…

It is argued, that speaking of “class specific socialization” (“schichtenspezifische Sozialisation”) cannot be justified unless structural differences in the constellation of socialisatory conditions in specific sociocu…
