Cultural Nationalism
Cultural nationalism is a movement focused on the defense and the regeneration of the national community. The tendency in scholarship has been to dismiss it as a prepolitical phenomenon that exists as an ancillary to state‐oriented nationalisms. However, a minority of scholars have argued that it has a separate role in the formulation of national identity and that it inspires a communitarian rather than a statist vision of the political order
