  • Considerations on Miniaturization

    This article notes the invocation of a notion of miniaturization in characterizing the new technological revolution and a relative silence in discussion thereof. It considers the influence of miniaturization in its moderate form on artifacts of everyday culture and on the design of those artifacts. In so doing, it invokes notions of affordance and below-the-line design

    While women experience male violence and intimidation in both public and private settings, the most serious and common threats to their physical and psychological well-being are abusive acts committed by known men. However, the Solicitor General of Canada's recent crime advice to women does not address this problem. The principal objective of this paper is to show how this discourse obscures the reality of woman abuse in Canada

    Because the immigration laws of the United States traditionally have been inflexible, many situations of hardship have arisen. Until recently, the laws made little provision for the alleviation of such hardships. However, many remedial measures are now permitted.
