Aegean and Aegeanising Geometric pottery at Kinet Höyük
This paper examines the Aegean and Aegeanising ceramic wares of Geometric type that were recovered in excavations at the Cilician seaport of Kinet Höyük. Its Geometric pottery assemblage, published here for the first time, is among the largest found so far in the eastern Mediterranean and provides the starting point for a new reconstruction of Greek pottery consumption patterns in the eastern Mediterranean. Recent excavations at Kinet Höyük, an ancient Cilician seaport in the northeastern Mediterranean, document the cultural transformations that were exerted by the Late Bronze Age Hittite state to secure its peripheral territories. Nomadic Pastoralists and the Chalcolithic Hoard from Nahal Mishmar
The Nahal Mishmar hoard of copper and arsenical bronze artifacts, dated to the Palestinian Chalcolithic, mid-fourth millennium B.C., has been discussed in previous studies as a collection of objects fortuitously placed in a cave in the Judean Desert.
