Structural Variations in Inter-Sibling Affect
Although sibling interaction is a very prevalent form of behavior, it has received relatively little attention by sociologists. The present study analyzes data from over 8000 subjects on sibling affect as related to sex of subject and sibling, age of subject (ju…
Adolescent Perceptions of Conjugal Power

Variations in Adolescent Perception of Family Power Structure
Some studies of family structure have focused on the effects of the conjugal balance of power, while others have assessed the influence of parental power in the child-rearing relationship. This study examines the structure o…
Family Structure and Child-Rearing Patterns: The Effect of Family Size and Sex Composition
Small group research has shown that the instrumental and emotional dimensions of group life vary considerably with the number of members in the group. Although many of the findings from these studies as well as from Bossard's investigations of child development in large and small families are highly suggestive with respect to the effects of family size on child rearing, very little research has focused on this problem. Effects of the number and s…

Psychosocial and Psychophysiologic Studies of Tuberculosis
In keeping with other investigations of the relationship of the social process to disease,41-53 these psychosocial data indicate that cultural conflict contributes significantly to the natural history of tuberculosis. The consequences of ethnic, racial, and economic minority status, and the processes of urbanization and industrialism are clearly evident. In essence, these studies revealed the tuberculous subjects to be sensitive, anxious, rigid, …
