  • The Neotoma Paleoecology Database, a multiproxy, international, community-curated data resource

    Open Access•John W Williams, Eric C Grimm et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2018

The Neotoma Paleoecology Database is a community-curated data resource that supports interdisciplinary global change research by enabling broad-scale studies of taxon and community diversity, distributions, and dynamics during the large environmental changes of the past. By consolidating many kinds of data into a common repository, Neotoma lowers costs of paleodata management, makes paleoecological data openly available, and offers a high-quality…

  • Chronology and Ecology of Late Pleistocene Megafauna in the Northern Willamette Valley, Oregon

    Open Access•Daniel M Gilmour, Virginia L Butler et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2015

Since the mid-19th century, western Oregon's Willamette Valley has been a source of remains from a wide variety of extinct megafauna. Few of these have been previously described or dated, but new chronologic and isotopic analyses in conjunction with updated evaluations of stratigraphic context provide substantial new information on the species present, timing of losses, and paleoenvironmental conditions. Using subfossil material from the northern…

  • On the Feasibility of an Automated Bibliography of Iranian Studies

    Open Access•Jerome W Clinton, Donald C Croll et al.•ARTICLE•Iranian Studies•1969

To state that the bibliography of Iranian studies is accumulating at an alarming rate is perhaps to belabor the obvious. It is an impression most students of the field will share. The project described in the following few pages was undertaken in part to explore this impression, and to test a solution to the problem implicit in it. Whatever small part impressionism may have thus played in its conceptual phase, the project's findings are strictly …
