  • Uncovering the spatial patterns and internal vitality heterogeneity of bedroom communities

Open Access•Caigang Zhuang, Shaoli Li et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2026•References: 59

  • The asymmetric influence of ESG performance on corporate innovation

Open Access•Yiping Sun, Dengyi Luo et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2025

Studies have highlighted the importance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors and their impact on business performance. However, the specific contribution of ESG performance to the innovation capabilities of partner firms in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the supply chain, as well as the mechanisms of transmission along the supply chain, remain underexplored. This study examines how ESG performance influences the inn…

  • Estimating the Pro‐Competitive Effect and Variety Gains Using Firm‐Level Data

Open Access•Yue Sheng, Xiaocong Xu et al.•ARTICLE•World Economy•2025

Using Chinese firm‐level data, this article constructs a theoretical model to estimate the welfare effects of domestic and international trade through pro‐competitive effect and variety change. We find that from 2000 to 2013, domestic and international trade have increased Chinese consumer welfare by 1.44%. The pro‐competitive effect and variety gains account for 59% and 41% of the overall welfare gains, respectively. Further decomposition of var…

  • Interplay between aridity changes and urban expansion across Chinese cities

Open Access•Congrui Yi, Changxian Yi et al.•ARTICLE•Applied Geography•2025

  • D-GloBFP

Open Access•Yangzi Che, Xuecao Li et al.•ARTICLE•Earth System Science Data•2024

Understanding urban vertical structures, particularly building heights, is essential for examining the intricate interaction between humans and their environment. Such datasets are indispensable for a variety of applications, including climate modeling, energy consumption analysis, and socioeconomic activities. Despite the importance of this information, previous studies have primarily focused on estimating building heights regionally at the grid…

  • A three-dimensional future land use simulation (FLUS-3D) model for simulating the 3D urban dynamics under the shared socio-economic pathways

Open Access•Xiaocong Xu, Dan Ding et al.•ARTICLE•Landscape and Urban Planning•2024

  • Exploring urban building space provision and inequality

Open Access•Xinxin Wu, Xiaocong Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2024

  • Does the Belt and Road Initiative Really Increase CO2Emissions

Dongmei Tang, Xia Li et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of the American…•2022•Cited by: 1•References: 44

There are debates on whether the implementation of the Belt and Road (BR) initiative could significantly increase CO2 emissions in participating countries. Nevertheless, the policy effect of the BR initiative on both consumption- and production-based CO2 emissions has not been fully explored. In this study, we quantified the consumption- and production-based CO2 emissions in BR countries with a multiregional input–output model. Then, a difference…

  • Global projections of future urban land expansion under shared socioeconomic pathways

Open Access•Guangzhao Chen, Xia Li et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Communications•2020

Despite its small land coverage, urban land and its expansion have exhibited profound impacts on global environments. Here, we present the scenario projections of global urban land expansion under the framework of the shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs). Our projections feature a fine spatial resolution of 1 km to preserve spatial details. The projections reveal that although global urban land continues to expand rapidly before the 2040s, China …

  • High-spatiotemporal-resolution mapping of global urban change from 1985 to 2015

    Open Access•Xiaoping Liu, Yinghuai Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Sustainability•2020•Cited by: 35•References: 3

  • High-resolution multi-temporal mapping of global urban land using Landsat images based on the Google Earth Engine Platform

Open Access•Xiaoping Liu, Guohua Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Remote Sensing of Environment•2018

  • A future land use simulation model (FLUS) for simulating multiple land use scenarios by coupling human and natural effects

Open Access•Xiaoping Liu, Xun Liang et al.•ARTICLE•Landscape and Urban Planning•2017

  • Delineating urban functional areas with building-level social media data

Open Access•Yimin Chen, Xiaoping Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Landscape and Urban Planning•2017

  • A New Global Land-Use and Land-Cover Change Product at a 1-km Resolution for 2010 to 2100 Based on Human–Environment Interactions

Xia Li, Guangzhao Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of the American…•2017•Cited by: 6•References: 45

Global land-use and land-cover change (LUCC) data are crucial for modeling a wide range of environmental conditions. So far, access to high-resolution LUCC products at a global scale for public use is difficult because of data and technical issues. This article presents a Future Land-Use Simulation (FLUS) system to simulate global LUCC in relation to human–environment interactions, which is built and verified by using remote sensing data.
