  • Characterizing the spatial variations of the relationship between chemical industry and riparian water quality along the Yangtze River

Open Access•Hui Zou, Jiameng Li et al.•ARTICLE•Applied Geography•2026

  • Effective Use of Digital Textbooks

Open Access•Teng Ma, Ahmad Samed Al-Adwan et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Education•2025

Contribution: This study has proposed a hybrid framework of acceptance and self-determination for the use of digital textbooks in higher education programming courses. The intertwined relationships between acceptance and self-determination factors, and their joint effects on student’s engagement and learning performance are all examined. Background: Despite the proliferation of education technologies, their acceptance and performance among studen…

  • The association between derived TyG index and the risk of heart failure in the elderly population

Open Access•Xinyang Dui, Xin Chen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

This study demonstrates a difference in the risk of HF among populations with varying levels of TyG combined with obesity indicators. In addition, persistently low and decreasing levels of TyG-WHtR also indicate an increased risk of developing HF. These biomarkers can be used as effective practical tools for identifying those at high risk of developing HF in the community's older population

  • Fasting plasma glucose trajectories are associated with ischemic stroke in the elderly

Open Access•Qingwen Zhao, Ling Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Regular health screenings should emphasize monitoring FPG trends among the elderly to aid in IS prevention. Public health efforts targeting impaired fasting glucose control may reduce the risk of IS

  • Effects of different negative pressure cupping interventions on inflammatory response and motor function recovery in delayed onset muscle soreness

Open Access•Xu Song, Teng Ma et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Sports and Active…•2025

https://www.chictr.org.cn/showprojEN.html?proj=263241, Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR) (Registration NO.: ChiCTR- 2500098071, 03/03/2025)

  • Understanding street-level urban vibrancy via spatial-temporal Wi-Fi data analytics

Open Access•Yan Zhang, Chengliang Li et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning B Urban…•2024

Urban vibrancy is a topic of great concern in the field of urban design and planning. However, the definition and measurement of urban vibrancy have not been consistently and clearly followed. With the development of technologies such as big data and machine learning, urban planners have adopted new methods that enable better quantitative evaluation of urban performance. This research attempts to quantify the impact on the urban vibrancy of the u…

  • Will agricultural land scale management aggravate non-point source pollution? – Chaohu Lake Basin, China as a case study

Open Access•Chen Lin, Min Min et al.•ARTICLE•Applied Geography•2023

  • Bacterial Community Characteristics Shaped by Artificial Environmental PM2.5 Control in Intensive Broiler Houses

Open Access•Wenxing Wang, Guoqi Dang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Multilayer cage-houses for broiler rearing have been widely used in intensive Chinese farming in the last decade. This study investigated the characteristics and influencing factors of bacterial communities in the PM2.5 of broiler cage-houses. The PM2.5 samples and environmental variables were collected inside and outside of three parallel broiler houses at the early, middle, and late rearing stages; broiler manure was also gathered simultaneousl…

  • Under the Dome

Qingfeng Guan, Yao et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of the American…•2022•Cited by: 1•References: 46

The spatial distribution of buildings is one of the key factors influencing the local environment within a city. The quantitative measurement of building distribution can provide critical information for exploring local climate patterns in urban areas. Previous studies mainly focused on the two-dimensional spatial distribution of buildings and ignored the differences in height. In this study, a three-dimensional (3D) urban texture model based on …

  • Simulating urban expansion by incorporating an integrated gravitational field model into a demand-driven random forest-cellular automata model

Open Access•Jianjun Lyu, Jianjun Lv et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2021•Cited by: 7•References: 46

  • Health and economic benefit of China’s greenhouse gas mitigation by 2050

Open Access•Yang Xie, Yazhen Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2020

As the biggest greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitter, China’s climate mitigation has tremendous contributions to the global carbon and air pollutants reductions. This study is trying to extract the co-benefit on air quality, public health and economic costs in China and worldwide from China’s GHGs mitigation policy. We construct two scenarios, with moderate climate mitigation action worldwide, versus more stringent climate mitigation action in China. W…

  • Analyzing key influences of tourists’ acceptance of online reviews in travel decisions

    Open Access•Alain Yee‐Loong Chong, Kok Wei Khong et al.•ARTICLE•Internet Research•2018•Cited by: 6•References: 14

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine what influence travelers’ adoption of online reviews, and whether the online reviews will influence their travel planning decisions. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 193 respondents from eWOM websites and analyzed using structural equation modeling. Findings The results revealed that eWOM has a significant influence on travel decisions. Furthermore, travelers were willing to adop…
