  • Glacial changes in the eastern Kunlun Mountains since the Little Ice Age

  • Reconstruction of palaeoglaciers and palaeoclimate in Zheduo Shan, Eastern Tibetan Plateau, during the Last Glacial Maximum

Open Access•Yanmin Yang, Weilin Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2023

  • Impact of Land Use/Land Cover Change on Landslide Susceptibility in Rangamati Municipality of Rangamati District, Bangladesh

Open Access•Yasin Wahid Rabby, Yingkui Li et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2022

Landslide susceptibility depends on various causal factors such as geology, land use/land cover (LULC), slope, and elevation. Unlike other factors that are relatively stable over time, LULC is a dynamic factor associated with human activities. This study evaluates the impact of LULC change on landslide susceptibility in the Rangamati municipality of Rangamati district, Bangladesh, based on three LULC scenarios—the existing (2018) LULC, the propos…

  • Feasibility of terrestrial laser scanning for quantification of vegetation structure parameters of restored sandy land in the southern Qinghai–Tibeten Plateau

Open Access•Jiarong Tian, Haidong Li et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2021

The efficiency of ecosystem restoration of degraded land is typically assessed using vegetation structure parameters (VSP). However, the field measurement of VSP, particularly in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau (QTP), which is a problematic area for ecological restoration because of its harsh environment, is generally time‐consuming and labour intensive. Therefore, new methods for VSP measurement should be developed. In this study, VSP were quantified …

  • Evaluating the cognition and response of middle/high school students to earthquake—a case study from the 2013 Mw6.6 Lushan earthquake-hit area, China

Open Access•Benyong Wei, Guiwu Su et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Disaster…•2020

  • Cosmogenic Cl-36 surface exposure dating of late Quaternary glacial events in the Cordillera de Talamanca, Costa Rica

Open Access•Rebecca Potter, Yingkui Li et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2019

Geomorphic evidence of past glaciation, such as U-shaped valleys, aretes, glacial lakes, and moraines, is preserved in the highland surrounding Cerro Chirripó in the Cordillera de Talamanca, Costa Rica. Previous work to establish a glacial chronology has focused on relative age dating of moraines and on radiocarbon dating of basal lake sediments to infer the timing of deglaciation. We used cosmogenic 36 Cl surface exposure dating to constrain the…

  • Glacier status during the period 1973–2014 in the Hunza Basin, Western Karakoram

Open Access•Muhammad Ateeq Qureshi, Chaolu Yi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Geomorphometric Controls on Mountain Glacier Changes Since the Little Ice Age in the Eastern Tien Shan, Central Asia

Yanan Li, Yingkui Li et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of the American…•2017•Referencias: 59

The linkage between glacier change and climate has garnered significant attention in recent decades, but little is known about the role of local geomorphometric factors on glacier changes since the Little Ice Age (LIA), approximately 100 to 700 years ago. This study examines the spatial pattern of changes in glacier area in the eastern Tien Shan based on geomorphological mapping of LIA glacial extents and contemporary glaciers from the Second Gla…

  • Presumed Little Ice Age glacial extent in the eastern Tian Shan, China

Open Access•Yanan Li, Yingkui Li et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Maps•2016

Mountain glaciers across the Tian Shan provide critical freshwater resources for the arid and semi-arid areas in Central Asia. Glacial extent during the Little Ice Age (LIA) has been investigated in individual valleys, but its spatial characteristic across a large region still remains unclear. We delineated the presumed maximum LIA glacial extents in three study regions of the eastern Tian Shan (the Boro-Eren, the Bogeda, and the Barkol-Karlik ra…

  • Glacial geomorphology of the Parlung Zangbo Valley, southeastern Tibetan Plateau

Open Access•Renrong Chen, Shangzhe Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Maps•2016

We present a glacial geomorphological map (1:825,000) of the Parlung Zangbo Valley in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau based on Google Earth imagery and the 30 m ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTER GDEM). The mapped region covers 2.9 × 10 4 km 2 , including abundant glacial landforms such as glacial valleys, marginal moraines (including terminal moraines and lateral moraines), and hummocky moraines. Glacial valleys are distributed mainly …

  • Lake-level fluctuations since the Last Glaciation in Selin Co (lake), Central Tibet, investigated using optically stimulated luminescence dating of beach ridges

Open Access•Dewen Li, Yingkui Li et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2009

This paper presents a preliminary study on lake-level fluctuations since the Last Glaciation in Selin Co (lake), Central Tibet, by dating four groups of beach ridges using optically stimulated luminescence (OSL). The highest/oldest beach ridge group (>100 m higher than the current lake level) is dated back to 67.9 ± 2.4 ka BP, corresponding to the early stage of the Last Glaciation (marine isotope stage (MIS) 4). This date further supports that n…
