  • The Aridity Threshold of Soil Organic Carbon Density Along the Climate Aridity Gradient in the Alpine Ecosystem of the Qinghai‐Tibetan Plateau

Open Access•Qiao Cui, Cui Q et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

Soil organic carbon density (SOCD) is a key indicator for evaluating the stability of soil carbon pools, especially in alpine ecosystems that are sensitive to climate change. However, research on the response of SOCD to different aridity gradients is still limited. Therefore, we conducted extensive sampling along different aridity gradients of the Qinghai‐Tibetan Plateau to study how SOCD varies with aridity gradients and how environmental factor…

  • Permafrost degradation amplifies infrastructure-related inequalities across the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

Open Access•Xinlong Du, Chunling Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Global Environmental Change•2026

  • Optimization of functional zoning and spatial patterns of water conservation on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau under different SSP-RCP scenarios

Open Access•Yuxin Wang, Yulin Song et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropocene•2025•References: 50

  • The impact of national park construction on the livelihood capital of original residents: A case study of the Qilian Mountain National Park system pilot

    Open Access•Shulin Yan, Xiaohong Deng et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Futures•2024•References: 3

While achieving ecological protection, the construction of national park inevitably has an impact on livelihood capital of original residents. Determining livelihood impact of national parks is essential for harmonizing ecological protection and livelihood development. In this study, we have conducted a field survey of 247 households in bordering villages of Qilian Mountain National Park (QMNP). We used difference-in-difference model (with fixed …

  • Relationship between large scale atmospheric circulation, temperature and precipitation in the Extensive Hexi region, China, 1960–2011

Open Access•Qi Feng, Zongxing Li et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2016

  • Climate and glacier change in southwestern China during the past several decades

Open Access•Zongxing Li, Yuanqing He et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2011

Glaciers are distributed in the Nyainqntanglha Mountains, Himalayas, Tanggula Mountains, Gangdise Mountains and Hengduan Mountains in Southwestern China. Daily temperature and precipitation data from 111 stations, together with the records of glacier changes, indicate that temperature patterns during 1961-2008 were consistent with warming at a statistically significant level. Seasonal warming was greatest in autumn and winter. Temperature rise sh…

  • Spatial and temporal trends of temperature and precipitation during 1960–2008 at the Hengduan Mountains, China

Open Access•Zongxing Li, Yuanqing He et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2011
