Clinically Meaningful Improvement in Depression and Anxiety Among Psychiatry Patients Within a Measurement-Based Care Digital Mental Health Intervention: A Retrospective Analysis of Real-World Data fr…
Depression and anxiety are common, disabling conditions that often require sustained psychiatric care. While digital mental health interventions (DMHIs) offer scalable access, few integrate measurement-based care (MBC) to track outcomes such as minimal clinically important difference (MCID) and remission. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the rate and timing of MCID and remission in depression and anxiety among patients with elevated base…

At the Birth of Anzac: Labor, Andrew Fisher and Australia's Offer of an Expeditionary Force to Britain in 1914
On Monday 3 August 1914, the government of Joseph Cook authorised a cable to London offering an expeditionary force. The leaders of the Labor Party voiced no criticism. This article explores the background to Labor's acquiescence. In the context of a looming federal election, a number of factors came into play. As the international crisis opened, Liberals alleged that Labor would jeopardise Australia's security. Labor had been prominent in suppor…
Creative Thinking and Teaching for Creativity in Elementary School Science
While it is important to nurture creativity in young children, it is popularly associated more with the arts than the sciences. This paper reports on a series of studies designed to explore teachers’ conceptions of creative thinking in primary school science. Study #1 examines pre-service primary teachers’ ideas of what constitutes creativity in science lessons, using a phenomenographic analysis. The study found that their conceptions tend to be …
The Lansdowne “Peace Letter” of 1917 and the Prospect of Peace by Negotiation with Germany
In late November 1917, Lord Lansdowne, one of the most senior of British Unionist politicians, wrote a letter to the editor of the Daily Telegraph. The letter asked for the war aims of the Entente and the USA to be “coordinated” and suggested that a moderate revision of war aims might bring a negotiated peace nearer. The letter appeared to ally Lansdowne with the British Radicals, who had been close to President Wilson (until April 1917), and had…
British Policy and the Weimar Republic, 1918–1919
This book explores the making of British policy towards Germany in the aftermath of its defeat in the Great War. The book shows how British pressures on Germany during the formative months of the new republic were crucial in debilitating the German Revolution and the faltering Weimar democracy. It reveals the inner workings of British policy-making: the long-standing reluctance to make any commitment to German democratization; the overwhelmingly …
