Seasonal influenza vaccination coverage and its determinants among nursing homes personnel in western France
IV coverage remains low in the NH worker population in Ille-et-Vilaine and also possibly in France. Strong variations of IV coverage among NHs suggest that management and working environment play an important role. To overcome vaccine "hesitancy", specific communication tools may be required to be adapted to the various NH professionals to improve influenza prevention
From Frozen Conflict to Mobile Boundary
Scholarly and media sources have often described the conflict in Ukraine’s east as a potential “frozen conflict” similar to other such conflicts in the post-Soviet space. My interviews with young Ukrainian citizens reveal that many imagine not a stalemate but rather a continuous repositioning of the border between Ukraine and Russia. Immature Publics
In the last decade or so, we have witnessed the spread of so-called democratic revolutions across post-Soviet states, Northern Africa, and the Middle East, and young people have often been at the forefront of these protest movements. This article tracks ruling elite discursive responses to youth-led protests, and particularly elites' constructions of the political agency of youth in Ukraine (the Orange Revolution of 2004) and in the Russian Feder…

Reflective Colonization
Historians have pointed out that as a terrestrial rather than an overseas empire, the Russian empire has had to grapple with a blurry boundary between imperial center and periphery. Ektind goes a step further to show that the Russian empire was the stage for intensive colonization of the imperial core itself and the attendant processes of self-orientalization and self-alienation. The review identifies and explores three dimensions of the process …
Patriotism, Order and Articulations of the Nation in Kyiv High Schools Before and After the Orange Revolution
An ethnographic investigation of citizenship education in Kyiv high schools reveals a tendency, manifest in pedagogical practices and disciplines, to pose the ideal Ukrainian patriot as tame, predictable, and obedient to authority. In the course of the Orange Revolution, however, mass mobilization against the government allowed protesters to break from a state-defined national identity that encouraged political passivity. High school pupils' expe…
