Introduction: Causal inference of athletic injuries provides the critical foundations for the development of effective prevention strategies. In recent years, the directed acyclic graph model (DAG) has established itself as an indispensable tool in the study of athletic injuries. Methods: This study proposes a quantile threshold function (QTF) and integrates it with the causal inference framework within the latent DAG model for ordinal variables.…

  • Reducing the Asymmetry of Theta-Assignment to Third-Factor Principles

    Open Access•Tao Xie•ARTICLE•Languages•2025•References: 19

This study focuses on the long-standing issue of θ-assignment in the generative enterprise literature. Despite the asymmetry of θ-assignment regarding structural positions (Head-Complement/Specifier-Head) being sanctioned by the Duality of Semantics, I argue that it is possible to eliminate the asymmetry in full accordance with third-factor principles by proposing two independent frameworks. In the first framework, I propose that θ-assignment is …

  • Deriving the Superficial Order of Mandarin Chinese Sentential Final Particles: A Feature-Equilibrium Perspective

    Open Access•Tao Xie•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

The main goal of this work is to offer an analysis concerning the distribution of Sentential final particles (SFP) in Mandarin Chinese in terms of the Symmetric Syntax formulated by Narita and Fukui (2022). We propose two alternatives of deriving the linear order of SFP that can satisfy the requirement of constructing Feature-Equilibrium (F-Equi), which is argued to play a significant role in narrow syntax computation by Narita and Fukui: (i) to …
