Yingjie Liu, Sai MIN et al.•ARTICLE•Prehistoric Archaeology•2026

  • Exploring School Belongingness Among Left-Behind Children in China: The Roles of Preference for Solitude, Academic Engagement, and Academic Stress

Open Access•Zilong Yin, Yuhao Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2025

The loneliness and sense of belonging of left-behind children have garnered significant scholarly attention due to their socio-emotional significance. However, the mechanisms underlying the relationship between these constructs remain underexplored. Drawing on ecological systems theory, attachment theory, and self-determination theory, this study explored the relationship between a preference for solitude and school belongingness among left-behin…

  • Terminologies associated with “early Homo sapiens ” and their evolutionary status

    Yuhao Zhao, Song Xing•ARTICLE•Prehistoric Archaeology•2024

During the Middle Pleistocene in East Asia, a unique group of hominins displaying anatomical features intermediate between Homo erectus and Homo sapiens emerged. This group has been referred to by various terms including early Homo sapiens , archaic Homo sapiens , archaic Homo , Homo heidelbergensis , and Homo daliensis . This work outlines the appearance and conceptual evolution of these terms. The introduction of these terms mainly reflects the…

  • Is urban innovation capacity shaping new models of economic development? Evidence from the circular economy

    Open Access•Pengyu Chen, Zhongzhu Chu et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Development•2024•References: 7

Circular economy (CE) theory emphasizes that following the reduction, reuse, and recycling (3R) principles can promote the practice of the CE; at the same time, innovative technologies support the feasibility of these principles. However, in academia, it remains unknown whether innovative technologies can be used to effectively implement CE theory. This study estimates the CE performance of 280 cities in China using the super‐efficiency SBM–data …

Open Access•Jian Wu, Jiansheng Wu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Previous Studies, such as the evaluation of the supply of and demand for regional medical resources and carrying capacity assessments, require further development. This paper aims to evaluate the carrying capacity and spatial distribution of medical resources in Shenzhen from the perspective of supply and demand, and to conduct a time-series variation of the coupling coordination degree from 1986 to 2019. The two-step floating catchment area meth…

  • Spatial Heterogeneity and Attribution Analysis of Urban Thermal Comfort in China from 2000 to 2020

Open Access•Jiansheng Wu, Xuechen Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Research on urban thermal environments based on thermal comfort can help formulate effective measures to improve urban thermal and human settlement environments, which is of great significance for improving urban quality, urban climate change adaptation, and sustainable development. Taking 344 municipal administrative districts in China as study areas, the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) of each city in the last 20 years was calculated to …
