Cross‐Border Renewable‐Energy Finance and Firm Energy‐Cost Efficiency
Climate finance is central to the low‐carbon transition, yet firm‐level evidence on how cross‐border renewable‐energy finance relates to business performance remains limited. This study examines the association between international financial flows supporting renewable energy (IFFRE), tracked under Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7.a.1, and firm‐level energy‐cost efficiency (ECE) in developing economies. Using World Bank Enterprise Survey data…
The Linkage Between Global Value Chain Participation and Gender Inequality
Gender inequality remains a major barrier to inclusive development, yet the gender implications of deeper integration into global value chains (GVCs) are not fully understood across regions. This paper examines whether rising GVC participation is associated with lower gender inequality, focusing on East Asia and the Pacific (EAP) and South Asia and the Middle East and North Africa (SA&MENA) economies from 1990 to 2018. Using a country‐year panel …

Using a dynamic panel model to address endogeneity, it offers empirical insights into how international climate finance supports sustainable energy transitions. The results show that such investment improves clean energy access, electricity access, and consumption, strengthenin…

Violation of US regulations regarding online marketing and sale of e-cigarettes
Sales of e-cigarette products to minors and the purposeful marketing of e-liquids in a manner that appeals to children and adolescents continues to be problematic. While the warning letters were successful in getting a majority of online retailers to correct the stated violation, many sold other products that would be considered a violation of marketing to minors. The appearance of e-liquids that contain prescription medications is also alarming.…
Donald J. Trump and Asia
This paper seeks to examine candidate Trump's campaign rhetoric about Asia and President Trump's policy toward Asia. It will look at Trump's announcements during his presidential campaign and show that Trump, the candidate, had made various proposals on the U.S. approach to China and American allies in Asia, which had made Asian capitals deeply concerned. In the Asian view, if Trump's campaign promises were realized, the world would be characteri…

Vietnam-Us Partnership
This essay analyses the foundations and future of the Vietnam-US partnership. It shows that Vietnam and the United States have sought to broaden and deepen the bilateral relations in three main areas: (i) trade and investment relations, (ii) political and security relations, and (iii) people-to-people cooperation. These areas continue to be the pillars for Vietnam and the United States to build up their ties. Given China's growing assertiveness i…
Health and social situation of adolescents in Hanoi, Vietnam
Primary education in Vietnam is free and compulsory for five years. The majority of school-aged children continue into lower secondary school, but significant numbers drop out. This study investigated the health and social situation of adolescents aged 11–16 years (between primary education and legal employment age) to compare the situation of adolescents in school with those working, including possible gender differences. The data were collected…
