Dual Effects of Self-Compassion on Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms and Posttraumatic Growth: The Roles of Trauma-Related Shame and Guilt
Previous studies have shown that self-compassion can alleviate posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) and promote posttraumatic growth (PTG). However, only a few studies explored the dual effects of its positive and negative components on PTSS and PTG. Also, the emotional mechanisms between self-compassion and PTSS/PTG remain unclear. Thus, with the three-wave longitudinal design, we examined the mediating role of trauma-related shame and guilt bet…
Parent–Child Discrepancies in Perceived Parental Coparenting During the Covid ‐19 Lockdown: Associations With Chinese Adolescents' Emotional Well‐Being
Parent–child discrepancies in reports of perceived parenting behaviors are common and have been linked to adolescent mental health. However, little is known about these discrepancies for parenting behaviors involving the father–mother–child triad, such as coparenting, and their impact on adolescents' emotional well‐being, especially during extraordinary circumstances such as lockdowns during the COVID‐19 pandemic. This study tested a mediating mo…

The relation between vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension in Chinese elementary children: A cross-lagged study
Vocabulary knowledge is one of the most important predictors of reading comprehension. According to the DVC (decoding, vocabulary, comprehension) reading skill triangle model, reading comprehension is dependent on knowing the meanings of words being read. At the same time, readers can infer the meanings of unfamiliar words encountered in reading. Therefore, a reciprocal relationship may exist between vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension…
