Semiparametric Cointegrating Rank Selection for Curved Cross‐Section Time Series
Cointegrating rank selection is studied in a function space reduced rank regression where the data are time series of cross‐section curves. Consistent cointegrating rank estimation is developed using information criteria extended to curve time series environments. The asymptotic theory involves two‐parameter Gaussian processes that generalise the standard limit processes involved in cointegrating regressions. Simulations provide evidence of the e…
Social Representations and Symbolic Coping: A Cross-Cultural Discourse Analysis of the Covid-19 Pandemic in Newspapers
This study used a framework grounded in social representations theory to investigate cross-cultural variation and consistency in the discursive construction of the COVID-19 pandemic by the mass media, in the week following WHO's declaration of a global pandemic in March 2020. News reports from media outlets in the United Kingdom and China were sourced, with articles from the most popular media sources selected for analysis. Four discourses were i…
Understanding London’s church tweeters: A content analysis of church-related tweets posted from a global city
This study builds on the findings of previous research into church-related tweets by considering and analysing the content of 1,004 tweets containing the word “church” which were posted from within Greater London during a 10-week period. The qualitative analysis of the resultant Twitter dataset enabled the research team to validate a previously proposed coding framework for church-related tweets, subject to a minor change, and provide new evidenc…

The article concludes with a focus on different aspects and definitions of Digital Theology
Key landscape features in the provision of ecosystem services: Insights for management
Whereas ecosystem service research is increasingly being promoted in science and policy, the utilisation of ecosystem services knowledge remains largely underexplored for regional ecosystem management. To overcome the mere generation of knowledge and contribute to decision-making, scientists are facing the challenge of articulating specific implications of the ecosystem service approach for practical land use management. In this contribution, we …
Trends in discharges from the HIV/Aids ward at a tertiary Canadian Hospital from 2005 to 2014

This study describes discharge diagnoses from the dedicated HIV/AIDS ward at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. A retrospective database review of admissions to the HIV/AIDS ward between 1 July 2005 and 30 June 2014 was conducted. Primary discharge diagno…

The article opens up the new possibilities afforded to scholars through the digitization of manuscripts and libraries, but also looks at the limitations of digital …

The 1934-35 Red Threat and the Passage of the National Labor Relations Act
Contending theories of the state have focused on the New Deal as a fertile historical era for demonstrating their respective positions. This paper reexamines the passage of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) in 1935 and the reasons for the strong business opposition to it in the context of three major perspectives: business dominance, state autonomy, and social protest theory. It is shown that labor unrest during the summer of 1934 produced …
