  • Materialism amid uncertainty

Qing Yang, Yicheng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Social Psychology•2026

The COVID-19 pandemic's socioeconomic disruptions may have reshaped perspectives on the pursuit of material wealth (commonly referred to as materialistic values) in emerging adults, a developmental period sensitive to environmental influences. We examined materialism changes among individuals aged 17 to 23 using longitudinal data. Study 1 compared pre-pandemic (late 2019) and post-onset (late 2020) periods. Study 2 tracked changes during the pand…

  • Do Asset Prices Help Predict Inflation? Evidence from Individual Stock Prices

Yumeng Cui, Yongmiao Hong et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Business and Economic…•2026

This paper revisits the predictive power of asset prices for inflation, focusing on individual stock prices rather than aggregate indices. Using a large panel data of firm-level stock prices and applying machine learning techniques, we demonstrate that individual stock prices significantly enhance the accuracy of inflation forecasts, particularly over medium- to long-term horizons and during periods of high inflationary and deflationary pressure.…

  • A comparative evaluation of spatial cross-correlation approaches for diagnosing water-related compound risk

Open Access•Peijun Lu, Yimin Sun et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Impact Assessment…•2026•References: 35

Compound disasters arising from interacting hazards increasingly challenge urban resilience, yet spatially explicit tools for diagnosing where hazards co-vary remain limited. To address this gap, this study develops a spatial explicit inferential diagnostic framework that applies moving-window cross-correlation to harmonized raster risk layers, providing a map-based assessment of local inter-hazard dependence. The framework implements three compl…

  • Co-development of depression and delinquency among left-behind children in rural China

Open Access•Yicheng Wang, Xinghua Fan et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Applied Developmental…•2026•References: 64

  • Decentralization and Economic Growth

Open Access•Danqi Chen, Yicheng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2025

Decentralization has become a central theme in debates on economic growth, governance effectiveness, and sustainable development. This study undertakes a bibliometric analysis of 1,322 articles published between 2005 and 2024, retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. Using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix (R-package), the analysis maps research productivity, collaboration networks, and thematic clusters. The results reveal two domi…

  • The anxiety spiral

Open Access•Qing Yang, Xinhui Qiu et al.•ARTICLE•Cyberpsychology Journal of…•2025

The widespread adoption of social networking sites (SNSs) has facilitated easy access to others’ shared content and life presentations, catalyzing upward social comparison. When faced with uncertainty, individuals tend to engage in upward social comparison as a self-evaluation tool, deriving ways for self-improvement and personal growth that may contribute to regained psychological stability. However, excessive indulgence in such comparisons may …

  • Automating refined on-site construction carbon emissions calculation for prefabricated buildings based on BIM

    Open Access•Zujian Huang, Yang Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Impact Assessment…•2025•Cited by: 2•References: 68

  • Calling in crisis

    Open Access•Qing Yang, Yicheng Wang•ARTICLE•British Journal of Psychology•2025•References: 65

The COVID‐19 pandemic has adversely affected physical and mental health, while also posing potential challenges to future career prospects. College students are a special group facing the dual dilemma of potential disruptions to both their academic pursuits and career planning. As yet, little is known about how major stressful events or uncertain situations have influenced the occupational calling of students engaged in job preparation. We explor…

  • Risk perception in different Covid-19 stages

Open Access•Qing Yang, Yicheng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2024•References: 10

  • Novel cropping-system strategies in China can increase plant protein with higher economic value but lower greenhouse gas emissions and water use

Open Access•Lichang Yin, Fulu Tao et al.•ARTICLE•One Earth•2023

  • House Price Valuation Model Based on Geographically Neural Network Weighted Regression

Open Access•Zimo Wang, Yicheng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2022

Confronted with the spatial heterogeneity of the real estate market, some traditional research has utilized geographically weighted regression (GWR) to estimate house prices. However, its predictive power still has some room to improve, and its kernel function is limited in some simple forms. Therefore, we propose a novel house price valuation model, which is combined with geographically neural network weighted regression (GNNWR) to improve the a…
