  • Evidence from masked-priming that initial identification of brand names is via abstract letter identities

    Open Access•Nicholas Martins, Christopher J Davis•ARTICLE•British Journal of Psychology•2019•Cited by: 1•References: 41

  • Aufklärung und kein Ende’

Open Access•Nicholas Martins, Nicholas Martin•ARTICLE•German Life and Letters•2008

The following article traces the development of Friedrich Nietzsche's attitude to Enlightenment and challenges the view that he can be dismissed, or revered, as an anti‐Enlightenment irrationalist. • Friedrich Nietzsche and Weimar Classicism

Nicholas Martins, Nicholas Martin et al.•ARTICLE•The Modern Language Review•2007

The authors uncover continuing influence of Weimar classicism at very heart of Nietzsche's theory, which in turn became cornerstone of his epistemological and moral concerns. The book takes as its starting point view that Thus Spoke Zarathustra has a …

  • "Fighting a Philosophy"

Nicholas Martins, Nicholas Martin•ARTICLE•The Modern Language Review•2003

The article describes how Nietzsche's name became a focus for the expression of anti-German sentiment in writings by British opinion-formers and propagandists at the time of the First World War. Drawing on a range of sources, this essay counters the view that Nietzsche's impact on British public opinon in 1914 was negligible. It is argued that the singular view of Nietzsche which emerged in Britain at this time was due not only to the demands of …
