Postmodernism, Socialism and Social Welfare
Postmodernism as a critique of the foundation beliefs of various forms of modernity, including socialism and especially Marxism, presents a challenge to advocates of a critical perspective on social welfare. This paper argues that we should use postmodern ideas to stimulate a socialist approach which is more diverse, nonuniversalistic and cross-cultural than that envisioned by earlier forms of socialism and Marxism
