Teenage girls and fiction reading in rural and urban areas
Previous research in the reading habits of young people has shown that many of them have difficulty in making the transition from children's reading to adult reading. Light romantic fiction novels were given to girls aged 12–18 at two schools, one in inner London and one in rural Scotland, to find out how they reacted to these books.
