  • An overview of Mesopotamian bronze metallurgy during the 3rd millennium BC

Open Access•I De Ryck, Annemie Adriaens et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2005•Cited by: 5•References: 10

  • Microanalytical Metal Technology Study of Ancient Near Eastern Bronzes From Tell Beydar

Open Access•I De Ryck, Annemie Adriaens et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2003•Cited by: 2•References: 8

Forty‐six bronze objects have been investigated to assess their composition and microstructure, using SEM–EDX and optical microscopy. The bronzes originate from Tell Beydar, a site in the northeastern part of Syria that was mainly occupied during the third millennium bc . The compositional results of the metals show a clear chronological sequence in the use of the alloying elements arsenic and tin. In addition, the microstructure indicates advanc…

  • An Analytical Study Using Electron and Ion Microscopy of Thin-walled Crucibles from Göltepe, Turkey

  • Analytical Investigation of Archaeological Powders From Göltepe (Turkey)

    Open Access•Annemie Adriaens, P VENY et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•1999•Cited by: 1•References: 4

Nine powder samples originating from the archaeometallurgical she in Göltepe, southern central Turkey, have been analysed. Bulk analyses, using X‐ray fluorescence and X‐ruy photoelectron spectroscopy, and single particle analyses, using electron probe X‐ray microanalysis, were carried out. The analyses were focused on determining the inorganic elemental composition of the samples and the distribution of particle types in the nine powder samples. …
