  • Risk of Frequent Emergency Department Use Among an Ambulatory Care Sensitive Condition Population

Catherine Hudon, Josiane Courteau et al.•ARTICLE•Medical Care•2020•References: 26

BACKGROUND: A small fraction of patients use a disproportionately large amount of emergency department (ED) resources. Identifying these patients, especially those with ambulatory care sensitive conditions (ACSC), would allow health care professionals to enhance their outpatient care. OBJECTIVE: The objectives of the study were to determine predictive factors associated with frequent ED use in a Quebec adult population with ACSCs and to compare s…

  • Association between Floods and Acute Cardiovascular Diseases

Open Access•Alain Vanasse, Alan A Cohen et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2016

Despite interesting results, the association was not statistically significant. A possible explanation to this result can be that the population affected by the flood was probably too small to provide the statistical power to answer the question, and leaves open a substantial possibility for a real and large effect

  • Does elapsed time between first diagnosis of schizophrenia and migration between health territories vary by place of residence? A survival analysis approach

  • Access to myocardial revascularization procedures

Open Access•Alain Vanasse, Theo Niyonsenga et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2006

The gap observed in revascularization rates at the index hospitalization for MI is in favour of patients living closer (< 32 km) to a SCC. This gap remains unchanged over the first year after an MI except for patients living between 64 and 105 km, where a closing of the gap can be noticed
