  • Jung's Erotic Phenomenology

    Open Access•Wes Wallace•ARTICLE•Journal of Analytical Psychology•2026•References: 16

In 1946, Carl Jung published an “erotic phenomenology” which condensed his teachings about sexuality and romantic love into a concise system. In Part I of this paper, I proposed a new translation of Jung’s original text, together with a discussion of its philosophical premises and the prior history of the system in Jung’s writings. Here I investigate its four “anima‐images”—Eve, Helen, Mary and Sophia. Each image represents a stage in the spiritu…

  • Jung's Erotic Phenomenology

    Open Access•Wes Wallace•ARTICLE•Journal of Analytical Psychology•2024•References: 6

The poet, doctor, writer and editor Eduard Trautner (1890–1978) was a central figure in the literary Expressionist and New Objectivist movements in Germany of the 1920s. This is the first detailed study of his life and literary legacy. His most important works are the short play Haft (1921), the political crime study Der Mord am Polizeiagenten Blau (1924), and the novel Gott, Gegenwart und Kokain (1927). He took part in the Munich revolution of 1…

  • Day Laborers in the Reconstruction of New Orleans

    Aoife Naughton, Wes Wallace•ARTICLE•Callaloo•2006

Day Laborers in the Reconstruction of New Orleans Aoife Naughton and Wes Wallace In the winter and spring of 2006, the parking lot of a Shell station at Lee Circle in downtown New Orleans became the preeminent casual labor market in the reconstruction of the city. Every morning starting at dawn, crowds of men, most of them Central and South American, but also U.S. citizens from all over the country, congregated there to await construction jobs. T…
