This paper describes a sample of toddlers at high risk for obesity: prolonged bottle users from a low-income multi-ethnic community. We report here baseline mealtime and feeding behaviour, 24 h dietary recall and bottle intake data for Feeding Young Children Study (FYCS) participants, by overweight (≥85% weight-for-length) status. It was found that the ‘dentist at risk’ tends to be older, somewhat anxious, and feels he is perceived as an ‘inflictor of pain’, with pressures from his work stemming from trying to sustain and build a practice, too little work, administrative difficulties and having to cope with difficult patients
