    This article revisits the famous Harwood studies overseen by Kurt Lewin to include the neglected union perspective that differs markedly from conventional accounts.     This paper considers relations between violence and organization as seen through the lens moulded by Rene Girard. Our aim is to rejuvenate discussion of what constitutes counter‐culture and what it implies about culture and consumption.
