The influence of self-compassion on emotional well-being among early and older adolescent males and females
Self-compassion has been associated with well-being in adult samples, but has rarely been assessed in adolescents. In this study, 90 students ages 11-18 completed an online survey assessing self-compassion, life satisfaction, perceived stress and positive and negative affect. A phenomenological exploration of the lived experiences of young adult grandchildren involved in the process of family caregiving to frail grandparents was undertaken. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 young adult grandchildren who were involved as auxiliary caregivers. Three primary themes emerged from analysis of the interview data. In a sample of 272 male clergy and spouses, factor analysis was used to assess the dimensionality of the Religious ProblemSolving Scale using a short form consisting of 18 of the original 36 items.
