  • Elite and popular contradictions in security coordination: Overcoming the binary distinction of the Israeli coloniser and the colonised Palestinian

    Nadia Naser–najjab, Nadia Naser-Najjab et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Studies on Security•2021•References: 36

Settler colonial theory has made a hugely significant contribution to the theorisation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but there is a danger that its application to the specific practice of security coordination could simply render the practice as an instrument of settler colonial rule. In this article, we would like to propose the important qualification that Coordination is, in practice, deeply conflicted and subject to multiple internal p…

  • Between Myth and Reality: The Palestinian Political Elite and the Two-State Solution

    Open Access•Nadia Naser–najjab, Nadia Naser-Najjab•ARTICLE•Holy Land Studies•2014

Although the two-state solution originated as a concession to preponderant political realities (specifically Israeli military superiority and international political pressures), it has subsequently become detached from any semblance of reality. While the two-state framework remains an article of faith for the Palestinian leadership, the day-to-day existence of West Bank Palestinians approximates more closely with an apartheid (one-state) reality.…

    Nadia Naser–najjab, Nadia Naser-Najjab•ARTICLE•Contemporary Arab Affairs•2012•References: 2

The subject of this paper is a case study based on evidence gathered informally through delivery of a course at Birzeit University entitled ‘Modern and Contemporary European Civilization’ and from end-of-semester evaluations that asked students to reflect on the impact of the course on their lives. The author is, naturally, aware of the limitation of the methodology used in this study, and does not claim that its findings can be generalized autho…
