The Environmental Crisis
The environmental crisis has generated a variety of theories for its amelioration. The author of this article criticizes one of these theories, which he calls "neo-Hobbesian." He finds it fundamentally flawed in part because it misunderstands Hobbes and in part because its use of collective choice theory is incomplete. He concludes that the neo-Hobbesians fail to make their case and that "more benign solutions" to the problem are available
