  • Dimensions of Poverty: Measurement, Epistemic Injustices, Activism

Open Access•Valentin Beck, Henning Hahn et al.•BOOK•Dimensions of Poverty•2020

This anthology constitutes an important contribution to the interdisciplinary debate on poverty measurement and alleviation. Absolute and relative poverty—both within and across state boundaries—are standardly measured and evaluated in monetary terms.

• Political reconciliation at the level of global governance

    Henning Hahn•ARTICLE•Journal of Global Ethics•2017•References: 6

To this end, I will first of all develop a three-tiered model of political reconciliation and introduce the related concept of restorative justice. I will then look at some of the most obvious forms of …

Henning Hahn•ARTICLE•Yearbook for Eastern and Western…•2016

In this paper I outline a critical justification of the practice of political whistleblowing as exemplified by the case of Edward Snowden. At first, I argue that the question of justifiability cannot be settled with regard to absolutely binding principles such as special loyalties or the categorical duty to inform fellow citizens. What is required instead is the careful weighing of all relevant consequential and deontic reasons. However, this wei…

  • The global consequence of participatory responsibility

    Henning Hahn•ARTICLE•Journal of Global Ethics•2009•Cited by: 1•References: 5

The aim of this article is to introduce and defend a revised conception of responsibility – namely, participatory responsibility. It starts from the insight that some pressing problems of global injustice render our common conception of responsibility useless. As an alternative the author mainly discusses Iris Marion Young's social connection model of responsibility. However, Young's approach becomes unconvincing in addressing and weighing specif…
