  • Digital financial inclusion and comprehensive multilevel medical insurance system in China

Open Access•Zhe Liu, Xingyuan Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: The influence of digital financial inclusion on medical insurance systems has drawn significant attention. However, its impact on China's multilevel medical insurance system (MMIS) remains uncertain. The MMIS is crucial for societal wellbeing. It safeguards citizens from financial hardships during medical treatment, especially as the population ages and healthcare costs rise. By covering medical expenses, the MMIS ensures equal access…

  • Study on the Coupling Coordination between Ecological Environment and High-Quality Economic Development in Urban Agglomerations in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River

Open Access•Ying Zhang, Zhiqiang Fang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

The ecological environment is the basis of high-quality economic development, and the coordinated development of the two is of great significance for promoting regional sustainable development. This study takes 31 cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River as samples, constructs an evaluation index system of the ecological environment (EE) and high-quality economic development (HQED), and uses a comprehensive evaluation method and a coupli…

  • Covid-19's impact on China's economy

Open Access•Yunhao Wang, Zhiqiang Fang et al.•ARTICLE•Disasters•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 68

The outbreak of Covid-19 in China during the Spring Festival of 2020 has changed life as we knew it. To explore its impact on China's economy, we analyse the daily railway passenger volume data during the Spring Festival travel rush and establish two RegARMA models to predict GDP in the first quarter. The models forecast China might lose 4.8 trillion yuan in the first quarter of 2020 due to Covid-19, an expected decrease of 20.69 percent (year-on…

  • Strong Cellulose-Based Materials by Coupling Sodium Hydroxide–Anthraquinone (NaOH–AQ) Pulping with Hot Pressing from Wood

Open Access•Yu Liu, Bo Li et al.•ARTICLE•ACS Omega•2019

Natural cellulose-based materials (CBMs) have considerable potential as strong and lightweight materials for advanced structural applications. Herein, we demonstrate a mechanically strong yet lightweight CBM with highly aligned wood fibers by the coupling pulping of wood blocks with mechanical pressing, which exhibits a tensile strength of 719.0 ± 30.2 MPa, an elastic modulus of 19.0 ± 1.4 GPa, and a density of 1.32 g/cm 3 . The extraordinary mec…
