Who is accessing public-sector anti-retroviral treatment in the Free State, South Africa? An exploratory study of the first three years of programme implementation
Our analysis showed significant changes in the demographic, socio-economic, geographic, and medical characteristics of the patients during the first three years of the programme. Knowledge of the characteristics of these patients can assist policy makers in developing measures to retain them in care. The aim of the article is to reconstruct the pyramid of legal disputes in Belgium. The data for the study are gathered by means of a representative sample of 506 households. This article tests the usefulness of some aspects of functional theory in explaining the relationship between socioeconomic development and litigation trends in Belgium for 1835-1980. Some of the six hypotheses derived from functional theory are supported by the data; others are clearly contradicted.
